This Cabin is a very special place. Seeing it completed, I remember watching you work with your father, which is a seldom fulfilled dream in today's world. But when I see the inside, to me it becomes a testament of your Love for your wife and family. for her travails, and for your joint reliance upon God and his Grace to see you through it. The notion that you would share this with us astounds me. It is precious, and personal, and a ministry of its own. She is in my prayers, as are you and your daughter.

I have always loved simple ❤I love you’re cabin

My cousin and his family have a small scale maple syrup business with several hundred acres of sugar maples. He discovered that the flavor is better if the boil off is done using wood rather than propane burners. I think the propane gets up to temperature too fast and drives off some of the flavonoids that give maple syrup its signature flavor. He's been playing around with his system for a few years and still makes the 'reserve' syrup purely over wood fire; but gets a decent higher volume product by combining firebrick, wood and indirect propane burner heat.

O the colours of Autumn! Coming from a country with no distinct change of season, I marvel at the beautiful colours of autumn leaves.

Great idea for your heater. I would have put the candles on a small scissor lift and cone that scissor lift to a motor that has a variable resistor and timing circuit. Then the motor would turn on after a set limited time to raise the lift upwards. So, as the candles burn the lift moves the candles upwards towards the pipe.

Have you tested how it holds up during windy conditions?

I had no idea about maple syrup making! So much liquid for so little syrup but with so much personal investment and feelings. We don’t have maple syrup made here, if you want it you have to buy it…..I don’t even think we have maple trees.

If you mean "fake" maple syrup when referring to massed produced, it is mostly corn syrup. I do not know about Canada food laws, but here in the states, the FDA is a lying poisoning outfit. It allows GMO corn syrup in everything. I always buy the real deal from a local producer. Sure it costs some, but well worth every dollar.
